The Hope School, which cares for 169 pupils who are affected by HIV, was selected by Aspen’s team in East London.
Employees embraced Mandela Day with extra energy in 2014, when they participated in various fundraising activities ahead of 18 July in order to maximise the support that they could give the children.
In June they enjoyed a Fun Run/Walk and also sold slices of Madiba cake which, combined, added R14 000 to their budget. Valued suppliers supplemented this with a further R15 000 and also provided other means of support for Mandela Day.
Aspen’s activities at the Hope School included upgrading and attending to maintenance issues; painting; repairing the bathrooms, ceilings, fences, storage rooms, offices and playground and much more.
